Volda University College is happy to again invite guests from partner universities to attend an International Staff Week. The event is suitable for both academic and administrative staff.

Arrival service and travel

VUC will provide arrival service for the international guests, meaning that we will pick you up at the local airport (Orsta/Volda Hovden) or at the local bus station (Volda Rutebilstasjon) if you fly in to Ålesund or other larger airports. Read more on the many ways to travel to Volda

Participants should check with the International Office at their home institution if it is possible to receive an Erasmus+ Staff Mobility grant for attending the event. 


International participant may choose among various accommodation options. The most reasonably priced option is the short term rent apartments through SiVolda (Student Housing division). Another alternative is Airbnb apartments (make sure it is within walking distance of the VUC campus), the Fruenes Bed & Breaksfast and the Volda Tourist Hotel


Note that each guest will be given a personal programme to fit the interests and study area for each guest. This could involve meetings with VUC staff and faculty, observing lectures, holding workshops/teaching, following up on students on exchange in Volda etc. The programme underneath therefore only shows the main parts related to the general programme.

Local excursion/hike in Volda
