"Theatre behind bars". One of our international guests, Carolyn Mayr, from Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences will give an introdcution to theatre work in Austrian prisons and show a short film (10 mins) - a theatre performance created and performed by inmates of a prison close to the university. This should be of interest to both students and staff, from drama to social work, media, teacher training etc. All welcome!
Carolyn Mayr is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA) and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she majored in education, English and German literature and held a teaching fellowship. She taught business students at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz for 12 years, students of Intercultural Business Studies at the University of Passau for two years, and has been a lecturer in the department of social work at UAUAS since 2002, where she teaches English for Social Workers.
