Volda University College (VUC) aims to provide research and development of high international quality, and for this to function as a solid foundation for the academic programmes offered. VUC has four faculties and some 200 academic staff.

VUC base its research and development activity on a broad platform within humanities and social science. The regional, national and international profile for research builds on this foundation.

The strategic areas of research include the fields of media and journalism, culture meetings, applied sciences, education, welfare and applied arts.
