Buddy Week in Volda
The academic year opens with semester start and Fadderveka (Buddy Week)- days full of various events and activities. The buddies do everything to ensure new students get off to a good start in the student life in Volda. It is organised by students for students.
Program for Buddy Week 2026
Fadderveka is a week of social gatherings, concerts, events, introduction to all that Volda University College has to offer. You get to know Volda and student life at it's best!
WEEK #1
Monday 17.08
Welcome Dinner 17:00 to 19:00 in the Berte Kanutte cafeteria. A great opportunity for new students to get to know the school and fellow students before the Buddy Week begins.
Monday 17.08 to Friday 21.08
Bring a white T-shirt and create your own "White Lies T-shirt" at Læringsverkstaden (makers space) in the Berte Kanutte building! Please note: You must book a time slot in advance.
Tuesday 18.08
Opening Ceremony 10:30-12:30. Volda University College welcomes you as a student. You will meet your buddy group and your buddies ("fadder").
YLVA is the first concert of the semester at Rokken! Doors open 20:00, concert from 22:00.
Wednesday 19.08
Wednesday Quiz at Rokken. Doors open 19:00, with the quiz starting at 20:00.
Thursday 20.08
Pangaia games 16:00-20:00 at Idrettsbygget (Sports building).
Game night at Rokken from 18:00.
Friday 21.08
Volleyball match between students and staff at 12:00 on the court oustide Berte Kanutte.
Consert at Rokken - Lars Vaular. Doors open 20:00, concert from 22:00.
Saturday 22.08
Theme party at Rokken from 22:00. This year's theme is Whitelies. Wear your White lies tshirt with your funnies white lie, bring your best mood and join the fun!

Monday 24.08
Seminar on media and journalism in Ukraine 15:00-16:00.
Student Media information meeting 16:00-18:00 in the BK main auditorium.
Tuesday 25.08
"Svele" treats (pancakes) 10:00-15:00, in the BK cafeteria.
Volunteer info meeting at Rokken 17:00. Do you wish to be a volunteer at Rokken? Stop by the info meeting to learn more about the various positions and what you could do at Rokken. We can promise you a fun time and great company if you volunteer with us.
"Tekst og tanke" (Text and Thought) 19:00 at the café in Rokken.
Wednesday 26.08
Organisation fair 11:00-15:00. The Student Parliament organises a fair in the BK building where various student organisations will be on stands to present their offer. Stop by to find out what you can do in your free time as a student in Volda!

Thursday 27.08
Amnesty is hosting Mocktail and bingo 16:30-18:00
Friday 28.08
Barbeque and get-together at the lake (Årneset) from 18:00. Kickoff with UVV, Laget and KRIK!
