Buddy Week

The academic year opens with Fadderveka (Buddy Week)- a week full of various events and activities. The buddies do everything to ensure new students get off to a good start in the student life in Volda. It is organised by students for students.

Fadderveka is a week of social gatherings, concerts, events, introduction to all that University College Volda has to offer. You get to know Volda and student life at it's best!

Monday 18 August

Welcome evening 17-19

This is the day before the opening ceremony and all students who are in Volda are invited to the Welcome Evening in the Berte Kanutte cafeteria.

We are offering a free dinner and conversation cards with get-to-know-you questions will be available on the tables for those who wish to use them. Everyone is welcome and will have someone to sit with. This event is for both those who don’t know anyone yet and those who have lived in Volda before but would like to meet new people!

Come for as long or as short as you like!

P.S: Allergy-friendly and vegetarian food is available. There is no registration, but a first-come, first-served basis

The Parliamentary election 2025 is on the 8th of September. The Studentparliament invites you to an interactive debate in the cantine in Berte Kanutte with those who want to represent you.

Bring your burning questions and we will serve snacks and good vibesssss. This event will be in Norwegian

Texts and thoughts, drop in between 11.00-15.00

Pop in and try a miniversion of drop in reading circle Texts and thoughts! We use shared reading to get to know good literature and good people. Stop by our tent outside BK, something warm in your cup and a taste of Texts and thoughts. Everyone is welcome whether you have read a lot or not much at all!

Text and thougths is a student welfare activity at Volda University College that is open for all students. We meet in smaller groups, there is no registration and you don't need any prior knowledge or preparations. Come as you are! Follow the events calende on hivolda.no and sivolda.no for the next drop in session. Texts and thoughts is organised by student humanist Lone E. Knutsen, Elin Gundersen from the Library and Guro K. Gjøsdal from the Nynorsk centre.
