Student Peace Prize Team til Volda

Is education a key to creating peace? Most people would say yes, but why? The 9th of February RE:ACT Volda, the student parliament in Volda and the the Student Peace Prize have the honor of inviting Fasiha Hassan, Elisabeth Teige and Øystein Venås Sørensen to Høyskulen to discuss the topic “Education for peace”.

Fasiha Hassa has been awarded the Student Peace Prize 2019 for her non-violent efforts toward equal access to higher education and her leading role in the movement #FeesMustFall in South Africa. She will talk about her work to counter the increase in higher education fees, something that would have excluded big parts of the population from attending, and reinforced racial divisions.
